Dresser Revive
Vintage is a wonderful way to collect unique pieces for your home or wardrobe, but it is also amazing to help with sustainable living. I often repurpose items in my home to give them new life.
We inherited some furniture when we moved into our house such as two of these night stands. Even though they had a lot of wear and tear, I loved the geo shaped drawers. Since the mirrors were cracked on both of the bottom drawers, I decided to use two of the top drawers to make one dresser.
Knowing I wanted this for our bedroom to have more storage space for clothes, I decided where I wanted to place it. It was the perfect height to put under one of our windows and still have plants on them to get sunlight. Next was narrowing down a color choice for the paint. To tie the colors together in the bedroom, I pulled a color from the one wall in our bedroom which has wall paper. It was a pink terracotta shade.

Step 1: Remove the dresser drawers so you can work with them separately.
Step 2: Sand all the wood on the dresser & the drawers so you are working with an even surface.
Step 3: Put 1 or 2 coats of primer on the dresser depending on how it covers. If you use more than 1 coat of primer be sure to let it fully dry before applying the next coat.
Step 4: Paint once it is fully dry. I waited 24 hours before painting. Again you may want to do 1 or 2 coats depending on how it covers. I used a small roller for the top and sides where there were flat surfaces. For the rest I used a sponge.
Step 5: Once fully dry place in your room & enjoy.
