Dream-like Sunday

My husband & I went to the MOMA this past Sunday. Their special exhibits were inspiring. I mean really, really inspiring.

On the way, home I realized we were right by the 5th Ave Gucci Store which is currently a visual wonderland that in its own right is a museum.

How did I feel walking through the plush store filled with mustard, pink & teal plush fabrications: pretty much the same as I did through the City Dreams exhibit. A sense of wonderment. An eclectic palette where styles, fabrics, prints etc. that belong in certain decades are all mixed together to create a modern sense of layering. A new way to envision the future or at the very least one’s closet.

It is amazing to take advantage of exploring the world in which we live whether it is a big city or a small town. There is always something to be a part of such as a museum, a boutique, a gallery and a farmers market where people come together for shared experiences.

BODYS ISEK KINGELEZ: CITY DREAMS exhibit made me happy and sometimes that is all I need from anything. The exhibit is open at the NY Moma till January 1st, 2019. It was filled with 3D models of a dream like utopian city in which he asked questions of what should be in the places where he lives. The city imagined through his models was an innovative use of materials and a beautiful array of color.

I feel so lucky to live in NY where there is so much art and design. A museum for me is always a great mood generator. To see artists unique ideas and perspective on the world is both breathtaking and humbling.
